Gatsby Glitz and Glam. Come On, Join In.

The Great Gatsby premiered in Australia last night, and rain wasn't the only thing showering on the guests. Aussie celebs donned sparkles, sequins, pearls and diamonds in honour of the movie's glitzy glam theme. Many critics have said that the film is way too over the top. But Gatsby was an OTT man, and the fashion even more so.

There is no doubt that the era's clothing style will be now known as The Great Gatsby style. So many shops are already offering Gatsby inspired jewellery and accessories. And on behalf of us all, I say thank you. Winter is the perfect time to rug up in beautiful faux furs, and dress up in beautiful costume jewellery. Do it. You will feel fabulous, I promise.

I did.

We all know a girl like Selena Gomez...

Breaks up with her boyfriend, publicly brags about it or dishes dirt on him (thanking social media for that one...), then a few weeks later they are back together and the man can do no wrong. You're thinking of someone, aren't you?

Two months later...

I love Taylor Swift's reaction to the awkward kiss.

But back to reality.. I mean not everyone can bag their exes on international television or go on dates in Las Vegas.

Social media makes it so, so easy to post a hateful status or upload a pic with a few nasty hashtags. But try not to! Take that time and energy and put it into something else. Maybe a new dress or lippy? Because you don't want to be that girl...

XX

p.s. But if you do want to be that girl.. well, you go girl.

BB to CC- and no, they are not bra sizes.

They are creams! We all know about last years new best talent the BB cream, but it's now the next in line CC cream that is taking the limelight. So if you want to know what it is and what brands are producing them, read on, por favor.

CC stands for Colour Corrector, and they are supposed to do what their name suggests; correct any redness, pigmentation and dullness. Perfect if you have any of those skin issues. They are also supposed to have a more makeup like coverage, but lighter consistency.

L'oreal has released one and it is $27 Aussie dollars and it can be purchased from Priceline. There are a few others on the market too, just a simple search of CC cream will do it! But of course, like the BB cream trend, we can expect a lot more popping up from everyone.

Oh, and keep an eye out for DD creams too. This is not a joke.

Now Trending: Puffer Jackets?

Yes, puffer jackets. Take a look around in shops like Zara, Witchery, Seed, and also shops like Temt and Paper Scissors. PUFFERS, PUFFERS EVERYWHERE.
I only really became aware of it whilst looking for a really, really, reallyyy warm jacket to where in New York City in the coming February. I want to look good. I mean, it's NYC. But I get so cold so easily that it pains me! On advice from a friend, a puffer jacket would keep me warm blooded. Surprisingly, a puffer jacket can look quite good...

Left to Right: Seed, Witchery, Witchery.

Puffer Jackets, not just for George Costanza anymore.

Met Ball 2013: Punk or Punk'd?

I know the theme was Punk, but are we sure that some of the celebrities weren't punk'd into thinking that they looked good? I understand that fashion is for pushing boundaries, but some of these looks... I just don't get it!

Nicole Richie and that grey hair. Am I the only person who doesn't like it? Please, prove me wrong! Although I do love her Topshop dress, makeup, nails and rings!

Her Lipstick is a blend of Chanel Rouge Allure in Rouge Noir and MAC Lipmix in Black and Fuchsia.

Nicole's nail colours are Gelish My Forbidden Love and Orly Luxe nail polishes.

And then there's Miley Cyrus.. Seriously. WHAT THE! How is sparsely spiked hair glamorous? I know, I know, pushing boundaries, punk theme... but still.

Beauty Bargain Alert: Nude by Nature Pack Only $20, Worth Over $160!

Worth over $160 and it cost $20!
Is that not crazy!?

My mum bought this Nude by Nature pack from a store in Birkenhead Point, Sydney. She doesn't remember the name of the shop :( but I will find out when I visit it myself!

So the box contains a mix of makeup and skincare products, which are:
  • Nature's Exfoliating Scrub
  • Nature's Super Anti-Oxidant Foaming Cleanser
  • Nature's Eye & Face Make-up Remover
  • Nature's 24 Hour Anti-ageing Moisturiser
  • Undercover Airbrush Mineral Primer
  • Soft Focus Illuminator
  • Flawless Concealer (liquid, mineral)
  • Natural Mineral Eyeliner (brown, waterproof)
I absolutely love the Soft Focus Illuminator (it was in my April favourites)! It is a beautiful gold colour that you can use mixed in with your foundation or on top. I also am really liking all of the skincare products, especially the 24 hour anti-ageing moisturiser. It says it is best for normal to dry skin, and contains jojoba oil, beeswax and ginko biloba. I apply it to my face and neck with Vitamin E cream at night, and my skin feels great in the morning.

My least favourite product is the Liquid Mineral Concealer. It just doesn't cover up well for me.

All of the products are full size and smell so good! Such a healthy, natural smell.

Who else is using any of these products? Thoughts?

Not a beauty post, but still beautiful

This year I blinged out the the Greek Easter eggs. Usually they are dyed red and left plain, or covered with colourful stickers. They are always pretty, but we wanted something different!

Tradition with a twist!
