Gatsby Glitz and Glam. Come On, Join In.

The Great Gatsby premiered in Australia last night, and rain wasn't the only thing showering on the guests. Aussie celebs donned sparkles, sequins, pearls and diamonds in honour of the movie's glitzy glam theme. Many critics have said that the film is way too over the top. But Gatsby was an OTT man, and the fashion even more so.

There is no doubt that the era's clothing style will be now known as The Great Gatsby style. So many shops are already offering Gatsby inspired jewellery and accessories. And on behalf of us all, I say thank you. Winter is the perfect time to rug up in beautiful faux furs, and dress up in beautiful costume jewellery. Do it. You will feel fabulous, I promise.

I did.

Not a beauty post, but still beautiful

This year I blinged out the the Greek Easter eggs. Usually they are dyed red and left plain, or covered with colourful stickers. They are always pretty, but we wanted something different!

Tradition with a twist!

Witchery AW13 Fashion Show Recap

My first proper fashion show!
If women that went to fashion shows all the time read this post, they would probably think that I am so not cool with writing what I am about to write, but I care less than when Kim Kardashian gains a new instagram follower. Wanna share some Kimmie?
But anyway, unlike about 70% of my life, this post isn't about the Kardashian/Jenners.

When my friend offered me a ticket, of course I couldn't turn it down. I love Witchery and David Jones and was excited to see who from the industry would be there.
It was in the beautiful room on level seven at DJs. It was my second time going up there and it didn't disappoint. I want to throw a huge celebration there! Oh and on the way up, in the elevator,I stood next to model Samantha Harris.
On arrival you were offered Sparkling mineral water or a glass of Te Hana sparkling wine or rosé. I took the rosé.
Who watches British reality show Made in Chelsea? My friend Briana died when we spotted Caggie Dunlop. After the show I took a photo of the two of them. Caggie looked so effortlessly good dressed in head to toe Witchery.

We snagged two seats in the second row, and the show began. Witchery's AW13 collection is tdf. Grey, black, leather, metallic with pops of colour here and there. And the printed pants!!!
Most of the female models were braless.. A trend? I'll keep for being lazy at home I think. But otherwise, I love it all.

And so I left Level Seven with a freebies bag (thank you Witchery, Napoleon Perdis and Te Hana), and a thrill. I loveddd it, absolutely loved it. I have always had an interest in the fashion and beauty industry, but it really did peak that night.

I can't wait for SFW!

List of what was worn by each model, in order.

What was in the goodie bag.

Thank you loves.

Birthday Freebies!

Even at a time when in-store retail is going down the drain, some amazing brands are still rewarding their customers with benefits.
I just recently celebrated my birthday and was happily surprised to receive gifts from a couple of my favourite brands... Mimco and Witchery!

If you're a mimco club member you receive $30 on your card to spend online or I store, and $20 from Witchery (both valid for one month). To some this may mean nothing, but I think it's a great way to get yourself a little gift and feel special!

From Mimco I decided to buy the large candle in Tuberose Empire. The box and candle glass are so pretty and it smells really good. The candle was $29.95 from $69.95.

From Witchery I bought a vanilla body creme. It smells delicious and contains shea butter, apricot and coconut oils. And even better, it's made in Australia!

So go out and become members! You also receive rewards when you spend certain amounts in-store and online.

The Beauty of Baby Oil!

Never thought that you'd be using baby oil in between being an actual baby and having one of your own? Think again!

I use baby oil mainly for three things.
1. Removing makeup! Perfect for removing stubborn eye makeup, without irritation (although every one is different so I can't guarantee it won't irritate)

2. Adding into into my home made body scrub. It leaves the skin so smooth.

3. Applying it to my legs after I shave... No red bumps! Ever since I started shaving my kegs in high school, I get little red bumps all over the sides of my legs, it didn't matter what razor I used or what type of shaving cream. Now I rub baby oil all over my legs after shaving and my legs are fine! Silky smooth and no bumps (it also doesn't sting when it goes on, like moisturisers do).

I bought my Johnsons and Johnsons oil from The Reject Shop for $3! And you get a lot in it.
A very affordable product to add to your beauty regime.
